You may realize that today is the winter solstice in the northern hemisphere. After today, the days begin to be longer. Where I live, the internet says that the actual time of the ultimate shortening takes place at 9:27 PM Central Standard Time. Our daylight hours will continue to creep longer until June 21. My local astronomer, Dr. Lynn Kirby, tells me that she thinks she read the days will each get longer by two minutes and a few seconds.
