More and more, one or both of us needs to sit with a heating pad. It started with me and lower back pain. I moved away from naproxen and into some Tylenol but I found a heat pad to be the most consistent help. For quite a while, I was the only one. Lately, the potter/iPad gamer/sudoku-ist has needed a good chair, a close-by electric socket and our friendly heating pad.
Actually, we have several, strategically located here and there. Usually, about 20 minutes after the pad gets heated is enough time for relief to set in. We remember being spry, flexible and ready to bend in any direction immediately and without heat or meds. We can sometimes attain approximately that state again, but we often need some time with our electric companion to achieve the ability to move, twist, lift, shrug and flex with no pain, no hesitancy.
I usually go right to the highest heat setting but sometimes Lynn uses a lower one.
If you see one of us with a blankie, you tell that we have less need to have a security blanket, but we have switched to a blanket with wires imbedded in it. Can a princess outfit or cowboy clothes heat us ?
