Peter Levine and Maggie Phillips list many different approaches to lowering or eliminating pain. Certainly, various medicines can play a big role but the mind matters, too. They list many approaches that have helped and explore the common elements among them.
Michael Yapko, PhD, is a clinical therapist specializing in depression and hypnosis. His book explores similarities and differences between meditaion and hypnosis.
"Digital Disruption" by McQuivey relates to the steady pressure digitization exerts on our lives. Eastman Kodak and the major record companies as well as book publishers have all experienced major upheavals in their businesses because of new approaches to human activities. The 3D printer, actually a digitized manufacturing machine, is just now on the brink of exerting all sorts of changes. Futurists like to think of the buggy whip problem. A company made the best buggy whips and functioned happily but then the horseless carriage came along and no one wanted, needed or used buggy whips. "Durn!" was putting it mildly.
