Had a good flight there and a very good Road Scholar/Elderhostel on the migrations of whales, elephant seals, birds and monarch butterflies.
The monarchs are especially mind-boggling. The larger group travels in the east US from Canada to Mexico. Going south, they do the whole trip. Going north, the newborns fly 1/4 of the way, lay their eggs and die. Happens after 2/4, 3/4 and in Canada. Five generations later, newborns fly to the same place their great-great-grandparents flew from in Mexico. Smaller group does southern California to Canada.
Coming home, had a late flight out of Los Angeles to Chicago and missed the last plane to central Wisconsin from O'Hare last night. United put us up in a hotel overnight. Had an hour of airplane maintenance delay this afternoon but got home ok. Had a good ride home from Central Wisconsin Airport by the finest driver, our daughter.
More later.
