Cool

Where I grew up, 20°F was definitely cold.  Even in the Northwoods, it feels cold when we are going into winter.  When we are coming out of winter and heading into spring, the same temperature feels warm, wonderful.

When we first found out we were moving here, I wondered about the thermal difference between quite cold on one side of the window glass and a nice living temperature inside the house on the other side.  So far, the thermal difference hasn't seemed to cause any cracking glass. According to my app, the temperature outside now is 30°F but what with wind and humidity, it feels like 22°F.

Yesterday, we had our winter furnace checkup.  We had to have a couple of filters changed but nothing too major.  However, the furnace guy failed to reconnect a certain wire and the furnace failed to start up as we cooled down.  Lynn noticed that she was inexplicably cold here in the house. She even began to suspect she might be getting sick.  Then, she noticed the house temperature was not the desired 70°F. It had fallen to 60. We called about getting the repairman back to check out the problem.  We have a good furnace and it should be ok. Our son-in-law built our house and is handy with everything. He came over but couldn't find the answer. We waited for about 4 hours and now we have heat.  It's better that way, for sure.

Around here, it is never "cold", even on the few occasions when the temperature drops to forty below zero.  When it is quite cold, it is "cool out" or "chilly."
