Just yesterday, the Internet Scout http://scout.wisc.edu/ introduced me to the Fathom project at the U. of Chicago. It contains excellently written articles on odd and memorable topics. I read "Carnal Ignorance" by Prof. Wendy Doniger and "Ancient Greek Love Magic" by Prof. Christopher Faraone. These may sound like dull or uninteresting topics but they 100% are not. They are about being a human being and the difficulties we all face in life.
I also recommend "The Biology of B-Movie Monsters" by Prof. Michael C. LaBarbera. It is interesting to think about a man who is 50 feet tall or an inch tall and other fantasies and their biological difficulties.
There are many intriguing articles and I am looking forward to others I find there. http://fathom.lib.uchicago.edu/
