YouTube Re:View: See what you've missed on YouTube this past week

Yesterday's post was about monetizing, which is related to ads, which some say are the mass poetry of today.  I am already scheduled to give a presentation in the fall about  Great Courses, You Tube and TED talks.  These three are just some of the sources or channels or methods of learning about all sorts of things with just a computer or other connected device, an internet connection, and some time and interest.  I just was told by a friend that her grandson, aged 12, has already earned $1.83 from a MineCraft instructional video he posted on YouTube. My own greatgrandson has learned much of his gaming skill from YouTube videos.

Hyundai: A Message to Space

The ads people chose to watch this April

All the ads people saw fit to watch...again and again. Not surprisingly, Mother's Day advertising hit the mark last month: Four of the top five ads were targeted to mothers and/or women. But Hyundai's Message to Space—a moving (and record-breaking) message from a daughter to her father—tops the list with over 58M views. Not that there were any slouches: The top ten ads collectively earned an extraordinary 100M+ views, with 212M+ minutes watched.
