Roadside and other beauties

How beautiful!  Enchanting!  Those who live in my town are transfixed!

Our thermometer at this point says 62°.  That is twice as far above zero as yesterday and yesterday was a warm day.  When we see puddles (of liquid water, not ice paddies), we feel uplifted.  When we get blue skies during this time of the year, typically sulking and drear, we are energized. The ground itself peeks out of the snow and we love it!

The whole town is happy.  We have been outside without gloves, without a hat.  Our down jackets are much too warm.  We have learned that sometimes, it is okay to just open the door and walk out.  We have memories of being able to do that but that was months ago.

Of course, it is unlikely that we will pass through the days between now and May Day without some cold.  We may get wet, heavy snow in April.  We may get icy roads.  But for now, we are grateful for the warmth, the light and the liberation. There are smiles everywhere and no one fails to mention the weather.  We are thankful.
