Strangers!  Foreigners!  They are different!  Might be dangerous!  Be on guard.  Be cautious. But don't let your caution show.  Smile in every direction.  Be smiley.  Not too smiley.  You don't want deep friendships.  Maybe later.  When you know they are ok.
