"Wisconsin Life" is a tv program shown on Wisconsin Public TV. We have lived in Wisconsin for over 50 years. We moved here from Maryland and came with a larger urban population in our background. We realized we were moving to a smaller town but it seemed rather alert and active. After about a quarter of a century, we moved to LaCrosse, Wisconsin to accommodate Lynn's new job teaching at the university there. We missed Stevens Point and we moved back.
I have been retired for more than 10 years and I have enjoyed working with the UW-Stevens Point learning in retirement organization called Learning Is ForEver (L.I.F.E.). That organization presents talks and trips to its members. The committee that arranges talks looks around for likely presenters. We find that there are always stories and activities of interest, some well-known and some quiet and more or less unrecognized.
The public tv program Wisconsin Life is much like the LIFE organization but on a grander scale. https://www.wisconsinlife.org/
The broadcasts tend to cover three or four short presentations about people and activities going on in Wisconsin. Last night, we saw Bronson Koenig, a UW basketball player of extraordinary skill, who now plays professionally. He has a Native American mother and works to inspire and advise youngsters interested in the game. We also learned about an interesting couple in the Mineral Point area who started and now operate an apple farm just to raise apples for cider and brandy. https://www.theciderfarm.com/
