In life, we are in the midst of death - loss of a good friend

About noon yesterday, I spoke to Prof. Larry Weiser about a book I had borrowed from the library that I thought might interest him.  A few minutes before, he said to the meeting that he recommended the play currently on the university stage, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.  Late in the evening, we received a phone call from Prof. Gail Skelton that Dr. Weiser had collapsed later in the day.  He was rushed to the hospital but was not revived.

Dr. Weiser was a professor of economics and an expert in international trade.  He and I taught together once in a while.  He was often interested in many topics.  If something seemed frightening or negative, I wanted his opinion on the subject because he invariably had something logical and at the same time, positive to say.

We are shocked and grieved by the abrupt loss of this excellent man.
