FiveThirtyEight is a well-known and well-respected website run by Nate Silver and his group of statisticians and writers. They specialize in data and predictions, especially in sports and politics. They tried a new feature: adult answers to kids' questions. It is not really a question but somebody said they wanted to hear the loudest sound in the world. The answering statement is that sound is a wave in air or some other medium, like maybe water. A wave of sufficient force will tear your head off and flatten your house. But further explanation about big sounds like the explosion of the volcano Krakatoa in 1883 and very tiny sound waves our ears cannot hear make the article interesting.
